About the Author - Dr. Hadidja Nyiransekuye

Hadidja Nyiransekuye was born in Gisenyi, Rwanda, and lived in Rwanda during the 1994 genocide. She immigrated to the United States in 1998 and graduated from the University of Denver with a MSW and a Ph.D. Her research interests are in the area of forced migration, African indigenous healing practices and issues of genocide and genocide prevention. She lives in Denton, Texas.
